The mission of the Office of Contract Compliance is to certify Minority, Women and Veteran Owned Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE/VBEs), to ensure that all County purchases comply with the Cook County Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Ordinance, to educate County User departments and vendors on the importance and the process of complying with the Ordinance, to develop MBE/WBE and VBEs capable of performing as primes, and to work together as a team to monitor the success of the process.

 

Attention Cook County Certified Vendors

Effective October 8, 2011 there will be significant changes to Cook County’s Supplier Diversity Program.
 

Personal Net Worth Statement

All applicants applying for Cook County Certification or submitting a No Change and/or Re-Certification as MBE/WBE and/or VBE must complete a "Personal Net Worth Statement."
 

Regular Dealer

The person must be an established business that engages, as its principal business and under its own name, in the procurement and sale or lease of the products in question.
 

Small Business

Small businesses cannot exceed the Federal SBA size standards of 13 CFR Part 121.
 

County Marketplace

The counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Kendall and Will are certifying areas for Cook County.  Veteran certifications are national.

On-line Certification Application Process

You can complete and submit the certification application on-line.
 

Certification Processing Fees

Minority and Women Business Enterprises will be charged a non-refundable fee to process certification applications however Veteran certification applications will be free of charge.
  • Certification Application - $200

  • Re-Certification Application - $100

  • No-Change Affidavit - $50

  • Veteran Application - No Charge

 

Veteran Certification

Cook County now certifies firms that are at least 51% owned and operated by veterans. more >>
 

E-Alerts regarding contracting opportunities for Cook County Government including:  

Office of the Chief Procurement Officer, Health & Hospitals System, Forest Preserve, Highway Department, Brookfield Zoo, Chicago Botanic Garden.  Certified  firms will receive emails notifying them when a contract opportunity matches the services or products they provide.

The Office of the Chief Procurement provides online a listing of all current bid proposals, professional service requests (RFPs), awarded bids, forms and other information about procurement in Cook County.

 

Cook County Health & Hospitals System: Purchasing
The CCHHS provides an online listing of all current, upcoming and awarded contracts for the CCHHS, as well as online vendor registration.

Highway Department

Purchases for Cook County Highway construction projects are solicited through formal bid request.  The Cook County Highway Department accepts DBE participation on contracts.

 

Brookfield Zoo

The Chicago Zoological Society is committed to ensuring that certified minority-owned business enterprises (MBE's) , women-owned business enterprises (WBE's), disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE's), and U.S. Small Business Administration 8(a)-certified (8(a)'s) firms are afforded opportunites to compete for and participate in the Chicago Zoological Society's purchasing activities.

 

Chicago Botanic Garden

Opportunities to submit request for proposals are available periodically at the Chicago Botanic Garden.  You may obtain information on business opportunities via e-mail or mail.  If applicable, we request that you also provide Minority and Women-Owned Business Enteprise certification.
